Karate, Self Defense, Anti Bullying
During Karate Camp we will  be learning our full Martial Arts curriculum, including self defense, anti bullying, character building and more. Children will be able to progress through our belt system at a slightly accelerated level
10 Magic Words of Karate: Yes, Ma'am, No Ma'am, Yes Sir, No Sir, Please, Thank you, Your Welcome, May I, Excuse Me and I am sorry!
Basic Self Confidence, Self Discipline and Self Control, Focus, Flexibility and more.

No uniform is required for these classes and no Martial Arts back ground is necessary.

Camp T-Shirt Painting

Using light weight cotton T Shirts we create the "Official" Camp T-Shirt. Since Karate means Empty Hand to children place round stickers randomly over the T-shirt and then using Acrylic paint apply hand prints over the top. The result when the stickers are removed is a hand print with an empty space - representing "Empty hand"
We wear the T-Shirt on Field Trips!
It is easy to spot our kids when on field trips as they are all wearing their uniquely designed Ts!

Nelson Atkins Museum Of Art
Taking the children to the Nelson Atkins is a great treat, we tour the Japanese, Chinese and Egyptian exhibits. Having the chance to see the wonderful art, Samurai Warrior Uniform, Sarcophagus and much more.
We are fortunate to have the expertise of our friend and Karate student Sarah, who has degrees in Art, Art History and teaches Art for the Independence School District.

We then enjoy a snack in the beautiful grounds of the museum

Art Projects
Following our trip to the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art, the children get a chance to paint beautiful Japanese scrolls, create Chinese Dragons and learn Egyptian Hieroglyphics.  Using various mediums from special paper to clay.

Just wait and see what they write for you on their Kanji scrolls.!
Kansas City Zoo
The kids will enjoy a trip to the Zoo we will walk through the various countries, visit the Parakeets, take in the bird show and the sea lions, we enjoy our sack lunch in different countries!

A fun day for everyone!

Shatto Milk Farm

Learning how Shatto produces the amazing flavors of milks is a really fun field trip!
The kids especially liked tasting the milk and milking the cows!

Fishing At James A. Reed
Sometimes the simple things are incredibly enjoyable. The children have the chance to catch fish at Honker Pond in the James A. Reed Memorial Wildlife Area. Using various types of bait the children use catch and release to have a wonderful day of frsh air and fun!
Lea McKeighan Park
We also take the children to the park for fresh air and exercise. They really enjoy climbing and zipping on the Zip line, this park caters to all ages in a very safe environment.

We also enjoy taking baseballs and foot ball and having organized games at the park.
Board Breaking!
We teach the children using re-breakable boards the correct and safe way to break a board.

The children then decorate their "official" board and following our directions break it - they can take the board home as a souvenir!

Other Fun Stuff!
As we have plenty of outside space, the children also enjoy other kids friendly activities such as Water Balloon fights, Bean Bag Toss, Nerf Wars, Hula Hoops, Hide and Seek, Races and Sports Day and even trips out for ice cream!
